Catalogue description National Maritime Museum: Registers of Correspondence

These registers list annually the individual number assigned to each piece of incoming correspondence, the dates that the correspondence was received and replied to and a brief description as to the subject of the correspondence. The registered number forms the first part of the file number reference assigned to the item of correspondence. This is followed by the volume no. of the register and finally the last two digits of the year in which the correspondence was received.
