Leopold TREPPER, aliases Leopold DOMB, Jean GILBERT (French), Adam MIKLER (Canadian), Jean MIKLER, Leiba MIKLER, Leiba TREPER ben ZEHARYA, Mr ZEHARYA, Otto TREPPER, Vladislav IVANOVSKI, Mr IVANOVITCH, Leiba DOMB, SOMMER (Austrian), HERBST (Austrian), MAJERIS (Luxemburg), DE WINTER, PEIPER, MARTIK, GEORGES, 'Grand Chef', 'The General'. 'Onkel Otto': Israeli/Polish. Born in Poland, in the late 1920s TREPPER emigrated to Palestine where he was active in the Ichud. Expelled from Palestine he moved to France and became the leader of the Soviet Rote Kapelle (Red Orchestra) spy ring during World War Two. Captured by the Germans, he continued radio transmissions to Moscow under their control, but escaped and in 1945 went to the Soviet Union |
