Administrative / biographical background: |
The Goods Vehicle Stations Branch (GSVB) originated in the Road Transport Goods Division (RTG), from which it was separated in 1966. Thereafter the GSVB formed part of a new Driving and Vehicle Planning Group, which operated from 1966 to 1969. In 1969 it became part of the Vehicle Inspection Division. GSVB was responsible for the administrative planning of the heavier goods vehicle testing scheme and plating. |
