Oliver Conway GILBERT: British. GILBERT, joined the British Union of Fascists in 1933 and was prominent in founding the Nordic League in 1938. In 1938 he was closely associated with a suspected Japanese espionage agent and may have been a target for recruitment by the Abwehr. He was detained in September 1939 and released in February 1944. He resumed his involvement in extreme right wing activities post-war
