Gunter Max Oscar SCHUTZ, alias Hans MARSCHNER: German. SCHUTZ spent time in London in the late 1930s, possibly engaging in espionage under business cover. In March 1941 he was arrested shortly after landing by parachute in County Wexford, Ireland. He was equipped with a transmitter. His mission may have been to provide economic information and report on bomb damage in the UK. He escaped from Mountjoy Prison for a time in 1942, it was thought possibly with the help of the IRA |
