Ludwig Max WARSCHAUER: German. WARSCHAUER, an engineer who came to the UK in 1939. His links with German Intelligence during the First World War, together with other circumstantial information, caused him to be interned in 1940. Later he was questioned and admitted that he had been recruited by the Germans, trained and sent to the UK for intelligence purposes. He remained interned for the duration of the war
