Description: |
Norman John KLUGMAN, alias James: British. KLUGMAN, an avowed communist and active before the Second World War particularly in Comintern Student affairs, joined the Royal Army Service Corps as a private in 1940. Having a double first from Oxford, he was soon assessed to be ill-placed and was transferred to SOE, apparently without a proper security assessment. He survived to the rank of major and was later reliably thought to have worked to achieve Soviet ends while at the same time doing useful work for SOE |
