Anna WOLKOFF: Russian naturalised British. WOLKOFF was of White Russian extraction, the daughter of a former Czarist representative at the Russian Embassy in London who owned and ran a Russian restaurant there. Herself a passionate supporter of Captain Maule RAMSAY's Right Club, she became acquainted with Tyler KENT through his patronage of the restaurant and was instrumental in introducing him to the Right Club and exploiting his access to classified Anglo-American information, some of which was passed to an Italian diplomat in London. She was prosecuted at the same time as KENT under the Official Secrets Act 1911, and the Defence Regulations 1939 and sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment |
