Harley Ogilvy MILLER, alias Harley Ogilvy SCHULZE, Harry SCHULZ, Harry LEHER: a British-born subject of German origin he left the UK in 1938 to work as a language teacher in Germany. On the outbreak of war he volunteered for service in the German army but was rejected and interned for 9 months. In 1942 he was granted German nationality and served in the German army from 1942 to 1945. From 1941 to 1944 he underwent training for the Abwehr with the object of coming to England as a spy but he was never sent here. He was not prosecuted but was refused permission to return to England until 1950 |
