Description: |
From John Whidbey, Oreston Quarries to William Shield, Plymouth Yard. Confirm that operations under Mount Batten will be of serious injury not only to Catwater, but also to Plymouth Sound, by decreasing the depth of water at the entrance of Catwater as the scouring effect would be lessened. Gives details of property in the vicinity owned by Lord Morley and John Rogers. A storm in 1824 breached over the Isthmus and should another such storm occur, the Isthmus may be breached in such a way as to ruin the harbour. Necessary measures should be taken against such an event. Enclosure. |
