Content: Folios 459-460. Workhouse Inspection Report Form from W H T Hawley, Poor Law Inspector, to the Poor Law Board, reporting his inspection of the Tynemouth Poor Law Union Workhouse on 13 February 1851; includes details of medical provision, management of the school, the vagrant wards, numbers of inmates. Improvements are now in progress. Girls in the school have been given industrial training by putting up a wash house in the laundry. Progress of boys who attend the national school is uncertain. The employers of seaman have given into their demands over wages but they still object to the provisions of the Newcastle Maritime Act. Paper Number: 9060/1851. Poor Law Union Number 333.
