Content: Folios 295-296. Workhouse Inspection Report Form from W H T Hawley, Poor Law inspector, to the Poor Law Board reporting his inspection of the Tynemouth Poor Law Union Workhouse on 31 January 1850; includes details of medical provision, management of the school, the vagrancy wards, number of inmates. The vagrants work in the stone yard with the inmates of the workhouse. The prohibitory order has been issued to the union but in the absence of any labour order test several able bodied men are breaking stone for 1s per ton in the stone yard of the workhouse; these men are outdoor paupers.
