Content: Folios 267-268. Workhouse Inspection Report Form from W H T Hawley [W H Toovey Hawley], Poor Law inspector, to the Poor Law Board reporting his inspection of the Tynemouth Poor Law Union Workhouse on 20 July 1849; includes details of medical provision, management of the school, the vagrancy wards, number of inmates. It states that the boys and girl both attend School and that the books are all up to date from his last visit. In February there were 252 inmates - this time there are 266 inmates. He has to report that the visiting committee of the Workhouse their visits are very irregular. Paper Number: 21520/1849. Poor Law Union Number 333. Counties: Northumberland.
