Folios 14-15: case no 22, John Morey, aged 21, Ordinary Seaman; sick or hurt, wound of right hand, he got drunk the evening before and lay down to sleep, but was awakened soon afterwards, he became furious and struck wildly about him knocking the back of his right hand against a bayonet and the handle of the chain pump; put on sick list 26 December 1861, according to the surgeon no pension certificate has been granted as the injury was inflicted while in a state of extreme intoxication. Folio 15: case no 23, Edward Mays, aged 18, Ordinary Seaman; sick or hurt, contusion of left great toe; put on sick list 23 August 1861, discharged not stated. Folio 15: the following is a list of person who received wounds or hurts during the period of this journal. John Morey, aged 21, Ordinary Seaman; pension not granted; nature of hurts see case no 22. Folio 16: Table of medical statistics. Folio 17: Blank. Folios 18-26: Surgeon's general remarks, regarding the nature of fever prevalent at this Station, included in the remarks is a list of men who escaped the fever - Edward Mays, Ordinary Seaman joined the ship in 1859, John Morey joined in February 1860, E Jenkins, Able Seaman joined from the merchant ship in August 1860, John Payne, Stoker joined in January 1861, the surgeon stated that the Marine men were also newcomers - Collins and Woods joined in August 1860, [Morris?] and Doolan in 1861. The Surgeon stated that the fever was mild, but however in some cases it was sharp at its commencement. Also included are remarks about marsh remittent fever and the difference between marsh remittent and yellow fever. Folio 26: List of Officers and men who died or were invalided during the period of this journal. William Button, no on the ship book 3, aged 26, Ship's Steward; disease or wound, delirium tremens; put on the list 3 February 1861, died 5 February 1861. George Vant, no on the ship book 20, aged 26, Yeoman of Stores; disease or wound, chronic alcoholism; put on the list 9 February 1861, died 13 February 1861. Mr W S Bailey, no on the ship book 8, aged 21, Acting Lieutenant; disease or wound, mania; put on the list not stated, invalided 3 January 1861. Mr William Thomas Tregidgo, no on the ship book 13, aged 42, Master; disease or wound, chronic hepatitis; put on the list 26 February 1861, invalided 4 March 1861. Mr G Roberts, no on the ship book not stated, aged 22, Assistant Paymaster; disease or wound, albuminuria; put on the list 4 March 1861, invalided 14 May 1861.
