Commissioner Charles Brown, Chatham. The Pembroke is lying on her side and a number of men drowned including the First Lieutenant, Surgeon, Carpenter, Mr Powlett, Chaplain of the Royal Sovereign and his wife, Third Lieutenant Hanbury's wife and several of the sailor's wives. Have asked the Squirrel, Captain Cotterell to assist in the recovery.
