Letter from Thomas Watkins junior for Thomas Watkins, Clerk to the Guardians of the Cardiff Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, informing them that Thomas Davies was elected Workhouse Porter on 26 July 1845, at a salary of 9s per week, with his rations. In addition to his duties as porter he will teach shoemaking to boys selected by the guardians. Annotated: send the usual queries [George Nicholls, Poor Law Commissioner] 9 August 1845.
