Content: Folio 215. Letter from Thomas Watkins, Clerk to the Guardians of the Cardiff Poor Law Union, to Poor Law Commission, replying to their letter of the 3 October 1844 requiring the guardians to obtain a bond from the master of the workhouse. Stating that the matron, there being no master, has been instructed by the guardians to give security for the due performance of the duties of her office and her husband for the same will probably be presented to the guardians at their next meeting. Annotated: Mary Davis appointed March 1836. Refers to 4808/B/1841 in which the Poor Law Commission consented to this arrangement.
