Letter from William Ashton, Clerk to the Guardians of the Basford Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, reporting the following case of out relief: John Roe, FWK [Framework Knitter], currently out of work, his wife a seamstress, and their children, Acton Roe, sells pipe clay, John Roe, works in 'Buck Yard', Martha Roe, and Dina Roe. Annotated: sanction the relief already given but he continues to be out of work, offer the workhouse. Paper Number: 6669/B/1841. Poor Law Union Number 334. Counties: Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
