Content: Folio 221. A list and description of those persons wishing to emigrate from Benacre in the Blything Poor Law Union, to Quebec [Canada]. Those listed are: Samuel Norman, 21 years, single, labourer. David Ward, 19 years, single, labourer. Robert Self, 19 years, single, labourer. The £20 expended was borrowed from Sir Thomas Gooch with security given by the churchwarden and overseers to be paid out of poor rates by four half yearly instalments of £5 viz: St Michaelmas 1836, Lady Day 1837, Michaelmas 1837 and Lady Day 1838.
