Content: Folios 39-40. Letter from Harry White, Clerk to the Guardians of the Blything Poor Law Union, Halesworth, to the Poor Law Commission, regarding the application for relief, at the meeting of guardians at the workhouse, on 16 January 1837, in respect of Robert Kemp of Walpole, Halesworth. Even though Kemp was an able bodied man and in employment his earning were insufficient to feed himself, wife and, eight children. The Board considered the application for relief and admitted the two eldest children, that is Harriet Kemp aged 13 years and Sarah Kemp aged 12 years into the workhouse. The Poor Law Commission is requested to confirm this decision. Annotated: Dr Kay to give his decision on this case, 23 January 1837. Paper Number: 384/A/1837. Poor Law Union Number 432.
