Content: Folios 485-486. Appointment form for Thomas Strafford Giles as Collector. The form shows Giles, aged 40, of York Street, StourportHe had been a Draper, but now out of business. The salary is to be 4d in the pound on sums exceeding £3 and 6d in the pound on sums equal or less than £3. His sureties were John Lowe, Astley, Farmer, and William Lowe, Kidderminster, Farmer. The parish had never previously had a collector Annotated: this appears to be a fit appointment, sanction E G [Edward Gulson, Assistant Poor Law Commissioner]. 31 July 1846. Mr Lumley, do you see any objection to the bond. No. W G L [William Golden Lumley, Assistant Secretary to the Poor Law Commission]. Sanction the appointment and the bond, 4 August 1846.
