| Folios 248-251. Letter from Harry White, Clerk to the Guardians of the Blything Poor Law Union, enclosing lists of people recommended by the Board to be sent to manufacturing districts. Certificates of character not yet obtained will be forwarded as soon as they are. The board wishes to hear from the Commission about: The amount of wages. The time for which they will be engaged. The name and residence. The accommodation provided for their reception and residence. The mode of conveyance and its expense. The name of the Commission's agent in the respective districts responsible for locating the families and for the fulfilment of the contract on the part of the employer. The board also wishes the Commission to state that the migration lists contain an account of the families chargeable to the respective parishes who may wish to migrate but not before they can receive this information. In answer to the Commission's offer to apprentice 25 female children, he forwards a list of 20 female children resident in the workhouse who are of an age to be apprenticed, and the Board will send a further list of five children as soon as they can. He also asks if the Commission can recommend any improvement in the heating of the workhouse in order to cut the cost of coal. Migration Lists.
