Description:
Content: Folios 238-241. Letter from Harry White, Clerk to the Guardians of the Blything Poor Law Union, to the Poor Law Commission, about the Eade family, belonging to Yoxford, in order that they might obtain employment in the manufacturing districts. He requests a report from the Commission of their reception to remove 'the prejudice that may now exist in the minds of those families within the Union, whose names are now put down in the general migration list'. Certificate as to the character of the family, signed by James Allen Ransome of Yoxford on behalf of: James Eade aged 55, married, Glazier, of good character as a workman and good moral character. Also his wife, aged 47, and his 6 children aged 16, 14, 12, 12, 10 and 9. Poor Law Union Number 432. Counties: Suffolk.
