Folios 335-336. Letter from Samuel Doubleday [Solicitor, Nottingham] to the Poor Law Commission, written at Nottingham. Concerning the sale of parish property in the Basford Poor Law Union, he encloses the request to the Commissioners for their consent to the sale of the property at Lambley, duly signed by the guardians of the union. Enclosed is Form Number 2, Sale of Parish Property, dated 27 June 1837. Part is a printed form requesting permission from the Poor Law Commissioners to allow the sale of the property under the provisions of 5& 6 Wm IV 'An Act to facilitate the conveyance of Workhouses and other property of Parishes and of Incorporations or Unions of Parishes in England and Wales'. Part is a handwritten description of the property to be sold, as follows: First, a piece of land in the parish of Lambley bounded on the east by land belonging to the Right Honourable Earl Manvers, on the south by land belonging to William Plumb, on the west by Green Lane, and on the north by land belonging to Daniel Selby, in total approximately 240 square yards, currently occupied by Thomas John Dernelly. Second, a piece of land in Lambley bounded on the east by land belonging to Earl Manvers, on the south by land belonging to Mordecai Brownlow, on the west by Green Lane, and on the north by land belonging to Samuel Plumb, a total of approximately 175 square yards, now occupied by John Brandreth. Third, a piece of land in Lambley bounded on the east by Green Lane, on the south by land belonging to Robert Haywood, on the west by land belonging to Samuel Renshaw, and on the north by land belonging to Henry Selby, a total of approximately 125 square yards, now occupied by William Brandreth. Fourth, a piece of land in Lambley bounded on the east by Green Lane, on the south by land belonging to William Brandrith [William Brandreth], on the west by land belonging to Samuel Renshaw, and on the north by land belonging to Samuel Upton, a total of approximately 48 square yards, now occupied by Henry Selby. Fifth, a piece of land in Lambley bounded on the east by Green Lane, on the south by land belonging to Samuel Plumb, on the west by glebe land, and on the north by the land of Amy Burton, a total of approximately 192 square yards, now occupied by Henry Selby. Sixth, a piece of land in Lambley bounded on the east by Green Lane, on the south by land belonging to Stephen Burton, on the west by glebe land, and on the north by the land of John Adams, a total of approximately 114 square yards, now occupied by Christopher Becket Watson. Seventh, a piece of land in Lambley bounded on the east by Green Lane, on the south by land belonging to Mordecai Brownlow, on the west by glebe land, and on the north by land belonging to Samuel Upton, a total of approximately 288 square yards, now occupied by Samuel Burton. Eighth, a piece of land in Lambley bounded on the east by Green Lane, on the south by land belonging to Christopher Becket Watson, on the west by glebe land, and on the north by land belonging to Stephen Burton, a total of approximately 120 square yards, now occupied by John Adams.
