Letter from Samuel King, Clerk to the Guardians of the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, to Edwin Chadwick, Secretary to the Poor Law Commission, enclosing resolutions passed by the guardians concerning alterations concerning relieving officers and medical districts. 1. The guardians consider that the administration of relief can be performed by four relieving officers. 2. The union to be divided up as follows: Hockering District: Hockering. East Tuddenham. Mattishall. Garvestone. Thruxton. Hardingham. Reymerston. South Berg. Woodrising. Cranworth. Letton. Shipdham. Whinburgh. Mattishall Bergh. North Tuddenham. Elmham District: Elmham. Elsing. Lyng. Sparham. Bawdeswell. Foxley. Bintree. Twyford. Guist. Gateley. Oxwick. Colkirk. Whissonsett. Horningtoft. Brisley. Beetley. Worthing. Billingford. Bylaugh. Litcham District: Great Fransham. A committee is to be formed for the purpose of making such changes namely: Reverend E J Howman; J D H Hill; Reverend P Gurdon; Mr Francis; Mr Salter; Mr Carter and Mr Grounds. A further application concerns the appointment of a surgeon resident at Hingham to the parish of Hardingham and another at Fakenham to the parish of Colkirk.
