Content: Folio 125. Draft Letter from Poor Law Commission to J and W Rees Mogg [John and William Rees Mogg], Clerks to the Guardians of the Clutton Poor Law Union, acknowledging their letter of 27 May 1839 and stating that the law does not allow the sale of parish property without a meeting of ratepayers and owners of property in parish. If consent is declined overseers must let it. The consent of guardians is not required but an auditor must take care that rent is brought into guardians accounts to the credit of the parish. Paper Number: 4301/C/1839. Poor Law Union Number 325. Counties: Town and County of Berwick-upon-Tweed and Northumberland.
