Content: Folios 379A-397B. Letter from J Jolliffe [John Jolliffe], Medical Officer for the Axminster Poor Law Union to the Poor Law Commission from Chard [Somerset] regarding a recent case he had brought against the board of guardians of the Axminster Poor Law Union for a vote of censure against him. He asks about expenses not paid to a witness, James Fowler, and asks if Mr Bond has forwarded a bill from the coroner to himself for the depositions relative to the late Ann Clark's death, which Mr Graves, Assistant Poor Law Commissioner, said was necessary and for which he (Jolliffe) had paid £1 1s. He also asked why his expenses were not allowed and asks if the vote of censure recorded in the Minute Book of the Axminster Board should be erased. Annotated: notes for the reply.
