Description:
Content: Folios 206-207. Workhouse Inspection Report Form from Harry Bernard Farnall, Poor Law Inspector, to the Poor Law Board, reporting his inspection of the Bingley Poor Law Union Workhouse on 1 March 1853; includes details of medical provision, management of the school, the vagrant wards numbers of inmates. Several limitations on facilities were identified because it is an old workhouse with none of the capabilities of modern workhouses. Annotated: query to Mr Farnall as to whether there has been any communication from the guardians of the Keighley Poor Law Union about building a new workhouse, or should a letter be sent to them seeking their views. Reply from Farnall that the present guardians do not plan to build a new workhouse so there would be no point in writing to them about the subject. Paper Number: 7981/1853. Poor Law Union Number 571. Counties: Yorkshire West Riding.
