Content: Folios 623-625. Workhouse Inspection Report Form from Edward Hurst, Poor Law Inspector, to the Poor Law Board, reporting his inspection of the Tynemouth Poor Law Union Workhouse on 8 February 1855; it includes details of medical provision, management of the school, the vagrant wards and the number of inmates. He states that he thinks that the schoolmaster is competent and that the final sanction on the master should wait until the next audit. Annotated: reserve approval of Johnson's appointment until the report of the next audit. Annotated on 11 June 1855: it states that the books of Mr Johnson [John Johnson], Workhouse Master, were audited on Lady Day and there were no defects. His appointment was approved.
