Workhouse Inspection Report Form from Edward Hurst, Poor Law Inspector, to the Poor Law Board, reporting his inspection of the Tynemouth Poor Law Union Workhouse on 22 August 1854. It includes details of management of the school, stating that he thinks the schoolmistress is competent. It states that new accommodation for the boys will be ready in the next few months. It mentions the new master and matron of the workhouse were recently at Alnwick [Alnwick Poor Law Union] and that their probationary period be extended for three more months.
