Description:

Folios 4-5: Mary King, convict, aged 24, case number 1; disease or hurt, cholera biliosa. Put on sick list, 20 September 1837 at Woolwich. Discharged 24 September 1837.

Folios 5-8: Jane Keith, convict, aged 24, case number 2; disease or hurt, apoplexia atomic commencing with intermittent fever. Put on sick list, 26 September 1837 at Woolwich. Died 15 October 1837.

Folios 8-9: Mary Ann Dowell, convict, aged 25, case number 3; disease or hurt, fractura fibula sinistra. Put on sick list, 12 October 1837 at sea. Discharged 29 October 1837.

Folios 9-10: Janet Fell, free woman’s child, aged 10, case number 4; disease or hurt, ambustio, severe scald of the left arm and hand and right cheek and ear from falling into a vessel containing a quantity of hot pea soup. Put on sick list, 8 November 1837 at sea. Discharged 23 November 1837.

Folios 10-11: Elizabeth Davies, convict, aged 18, case number 5; disease or hurt, ophthalmia. Put on sick list, 9 November 1837 at sea. Discharged 22 December 1837. Added to the sick list again on 3 January 1838 with the same complaint. Finally sent to the hospital at Hobart Town on 25 January 1828.

Folio 11: Hannah Collis, convict, aged 47, case number 6; disease or hurt, rheumatismus. Put on sick list, 13 November 1837 at sea. Discharged 14 January 1838.

Folio 12: Eliza Taylor, convict, aged 22, case number 7; disease or hurt, febris synochus. Put on sick list, 17 November 1837 at sea. Discharged 20 November 1837.

Folios 12-14: Elizabeth Ellis, convict, aged 19, case number 8; disease or hurt, scorbutus commencing with symptoms of pleuritis. Put on sick list, 11 December 1837 at sea. Discharged 21 January 1838.

Folio 15: Frances Shepherd, convict, aged 24, case number 9; disease or hurt, paracyses, premature labour. Put on sick list, 24 December 1837 at sea. Discharged 31 December 1837.

Folio 15: Sarah Ferguson, convict, aged 26, case number 10; disease or hurt, graviditas, natural labor. Put on sick list, 27 December 1837 at sea. Discharged 1 January 1838.

Folio 15: Elizabeth Davidson, convict, aged 33, case number 11; disease or hurt, rheumatismus. Put on sick list, 21 January 1838 at sea. Discharged 25 January 1838 to the hospital at Hobart Town.

Folios 17-19: Surgeon’s general remarks. 151 convicts; 5 free women; 18 convict’s children; 9 free women children (total 183) were embarked on the Atwick at Woolwich between 13 and 28 September 1837. One death and one birth occurred during the voyage making the total landed at Hobart Town on 25 and 30 January 1838 (183).
