Content: Folios 245-248. Letter from [Edward Swatman], Chairman of the Little Fransham Parish Council, to the Poor Law Commission, enclosing a certificate referring to the emigration of paupers from the parish. [Swatman] is concerned that the sanction is given quickly as the ship to take them sails at the end of the month. A list and description of those persons seeking to emigrate from Little Fransham in the Mitford and Launditch Union to Quebec [Canada]. Those listed are: John Beckham. Alice Beckham, wife. John Beckham. Mary Anne Beckham. Phoebe Beckham. James Beckham. William Beckham. John Ward. Sarah Ward, Wife. Israel Ward. Jonathan Ward. Joseph Ward. Also listed is the amount of parish relief given to these people in previous years. Emigration form A relating to a 'Notice of meeting to consent to raising or borrowing money for emigration purposes', for the parish of Little Fransham in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, signed by [ Edward Swatman], Minister; John Buscall and Thomas Gisling, Churchwardens. 15 April 1836. Emigration form B relating respectively to a 'Resolution entered in Vestry Book' for the parish of Little Fransham in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union, signed by [Edward Swatman], Minister; John Buscall and Thomas Gisling, Churchwardens and John Buscall, Overseer. Emigration form C relating to a 'Certificate of Minister, Churchwardens and Overseers of the Forms of the Act having been complied with for the parish of Little Fransham in the Mitford and Launditch Poor Law Union.
