Catalogue description Lord Steward's Department: Examinations of Gardens Bills

Quarterly Lord Steward's Department examinations of the bills bound up in books. They summarise the expenditure on each of the gardens.

The records note the entry number, the person presenting the bill, the subject of the submission, the date and the sum due for payment. Some pieces contain loose original accounts, calculations, and original correspondence on such matters as the accuracy of figures presented, reasons for late presentation, etc.
