Description: |
Mostly small regular series of records of the Court of King's Bench which cover quite long periods.
The rest are precedent books kept mainly by individual clerks of the crown from the sixteenth to the nineteenth centuries and often passed on to their successors. They relate mainly to the form of writs and pleas but contain much miscellaneous information about the court, including lists of Crown Side fees. The earliest material included in them dates from the fourteenth century, and some of it is taken from the memoranda rolls in KB 29, to which precise cross references are sometimes given. |
