This property formed part of the 'Bow Houses' during the 17th and 18th century, though parts of the house are reputed to date from the 14th century. The house was used as a shop and in the 19th century became the Sun Inn. In 1884 it was bought by the headmaster, the Revd E Young, but following his resignation in 1892 it was sold again. The School purchased it in 1916 and during the war was used for billeting soldiers. In 1921 it was named the Bow House and converted into a common room and lodgings for staff and pupils |
