The Lamb Farm Estate, to which most of these documents refer, was purchased by Samuel Rhodes I, (son of Thomas I) in 1788-9. After his death his sons Thomas II and William I (to whom Samuel II had conveyed his share) developed the property. Thomas bequeathed his share to his grandson Thomas William. William bequeathed his share to his sons William Arthur and Francis William; William Arthur bequeathed his portion to Thomas William, who was his nephew. The estate was divided up between the heirs in 1874. Francis William left his portion to trustees in trust for his children and their heirs. (This property was referred to as the Dalston Estate).
