Title: Papers in Exchequer suit, upon a Bill of Revivor: John Harmar, D.D., warden of Winchester College and scholars of same versus Sir Daniel Norton Honor, his wife and Dame Frances White, widow of John White, Esq.
Description:

concerning the tithes of corn and grain of Hilsea, including Bill of Complaint and Answers of Defendants (1608), proposals of Sir Daniel Norton for an agreement (1611), interrogatories and depositions before Sir Hampden Poulet and Sir Richard Tichborne (1611), correspondence between Sir Daniel Norton and the College for a settlement (1612), and a copy of the court decree (1612)

The original process of the suit was interrupted by Norton's pleading that his title to the rectories of Wymering and Wanstead was not by inheritance but by purchase from Sir Richard Worsley, and this appears to have invalidated the original complaint. By the agreement the College granted to Norton leases dating from 1617 of the rectories of Portsea and Portsmouth for 10 years, renewable after 5 years at a fine of £300, and of Stubbington Farm for 20 years renewable similarly upon payment of a fine of £400, and in exchange Norton agrees to present a Fellow of the College to the vicarage of Wymering and rectory of Widley.
