This bound collection of manuscripts was formerly in the collection of Clement M. Royds and was acquired by the library service in the 1920's.

Edwin Waugh, Rochdale born dialect writer and journalist (1817-1890) left behind a large amount of manuscript material. Some had formed the basis of published works (e.g. "Besom Ben") whilst others remain unpublished to this day.
