Administrative / biographical background:

Fentham Road Council School opened in 1904 with departments for mixed and infant children. In 1931 it was reorganised as a senior girls school, and renamed Fentham Girls County Modern. At its closure in 1996, the school site was occupied by the Jaffray School [see S267].
