Description:

Black, post-bound album, 263x394mm, containing prints mounted with corner hinges, three or four to a page and interleaved with tissue. There are also a number of loose prints in the inside back cover. Many of the hinges are torn or missing resulting in loose or poorly mounted prints. The photographs are mostly uncaptioned although a few have descriptions on the back which have been added later. A label on the inside front cover reads: 'Presented to the India Office Library by General Sir Geoffrey Scoones'. The album records the tour of India by the Commander-in-Chief, Field Marshal Sir Claude Auchinleck, during the Second World War.
