Licence to search for tin, for term of 2 years

 

John de Veer, Earl of Oxford, Viscount Bulbek, Lord Badlysmere and Chamberlain of England = (1)

 

William Lanyon and David Angove = (2)-(3)

 

(1) to (2)-(3), licence to dig and search for tin ('for the loode and veyne of tynne') everywhere within (1)'s manors and lordships in Cornwall, for term of 2 years from the present; (2)-(3) shall have half of the freehold or works so found, and (1) the other share. If (2)-(3) find 'schode or scove' which is unable to make more than 12 dishes of tin, they may keep it without paying toll or farm; if they find 'schode or scove' able to make 13 dishes or more but unable to 'make wages', the earl shall have half as toll or farm. (1)-(2) covenant to 'fylle and scoppe up agayne' all pits and shafts that they shall dig.
