Administrative / biographical background:	Etchells Machinery Ltd., Fastening Machine Tool manufacturers. The present company dates from the early 1970's when the family firm of D. Etchells & Son Ltd. sold the business as a going concern to the present owner. The original business, making nuts, bolts and other fasteners was begun by David Etchells in 1873; but before 1900 he had broadened the scope of his activities to the making of machine tools for nut and bolt manufacture and further to the operation of a cast iron foundry to form the machine tools. The company was incorporated in 1929 as David Etchells & Son Ltd. It now concentrates on the manufacture of machine tools.
