Administrative / biographical background: |
Note on the boundaries of jurisdiction In 1855, Wallingford borough covered the parishes of St Leonard, St Mary le More, and St Peter, it also included the Castle precincts and parts of the parish of All Hallows. The borough boundary was subsequently extended on 1 April 1934, by an order made by the Minister of Health under the Local Government Act 1929 S46, to include parts of the civil parishes of Brightwell and Clapcot. On 1 May 1954, the borough petty sessions were amalgamated with Moreton division, to form Moreton and Wallingford division. |
