Rev. H. D. Birley, Miss Birley's father, was vicar of Ellastone between 1916 and 1932. His father, Rev. E. H. Birley, had held the living before him from 1875-1916. This collection was amassed by the family while living at Ellastone. The photographs are undated but generally date from between 1900 and 1914.
