(a)'s portion: Manor of Sonnyngleigh in Sussex and Kent; tenement and lands in occ. formerly of Walter Copping and now John Markwick (171a.), and down and waste (199a.); tenement, barn and lands (10a.) abutting W. on highway from Noblesgate to Suresbridge, 1a. enclosed within highways, 5a. abutting S. on lane [unnamed] and N. on lands of William Ellis, Higham (5a.), Griggs (9a.), Nettford (56a.), Griggs [sic.] 3a. abutting N. on Griggs lane, Griggsfeild alias Knowlebrooke (6a.) adjoining Knowlewood previously used as a waterlay at the tail of Brookland pond, Abbotts and Rishlie [now Rushlye] downs (101a.) with cottages on the waste, lane between Laygreen and Griggswood with a marlpit all in occ. of Richard Petter; tenement buildings and lands (19a.) in occ. of Walter Gromebridge; 2a. in occ. formerly of [blank] Easterfield now [blank] Hooke

 

(b)'s portion: Manor of Frant in Sussex and Kent; Courtlodge house and lands (70a.), The Downe on W. of highway from Frantgreen to Rishlie (66a.), Scotlands abutting S. and E. of said highway all in occ. of Joseph Moone, total 120a.; tenement and lands in occ. of George Harris (89a.); tenement and lands with Meeres (31a.), Morgans (6a.), Dyers (10a.), New Riddens (7a.) late part of Morganswood now arable, all in occ. of John Turnor

 

Covenants by both parties to allow free access to woods and right to dig marl at the accustomed places giving 1 year's notice to tenants of intention to dig marl

 

Reciting that (a) and John Baker of Speldhurst, co. Kent, dec'd., possessed premises as tenants in common and that (b) succeeded under his father's will dated 31 Aug. 1638 (which excepted woods from the devise)
