Lease and Release (being a conveyance)

 

i) John Osborn, the elder, late of Leighton Buzzard, but now of Linslade, Bucks., merchant (surviving executor of Robert Salmon, late of Woburn, gentleman, deceased)

 

ii) John Barringer, Shenley, Herts, farmer, and wife Mary Ann (late Mary Ann Salmon, spinster)

 

iii) John Osborn, the younger, Linslade, (eldest son and heir at law of Lucy Matilda, late the wife of i) and formerly L M Salmon, spinster)

 

iv) Catherine Elizabeth Lawford, Leighton Buzzard, widow

 

v) Edward Lasford, Leighton Buzzard, merchant reciting above deeds and giving date of death of Robert Salmon as 26 October 1821

 

Robert Salmon died intestate as to legal estate and interest vested in him in said mortgaged premises where upon the same descended to William Salmon, his only brother and heir at law

 

William Salmon died in April 1822 intestate as to same mortgaged premises, leaving Elizabeth (who married Joseph Briers), Lucy Matilda (who married John Osborn, the elder)and Mary Ann (who married John Barringer) to whom the legal estate descended as co-parceners

 

Elizabeth Briers died on 26 April 1824 in the life time of her husband and without issue

 

Lucy Matilda Osborn has lately died leaving her husband,i) and son, iii) surviving her

 

iii) is aged 11 and in order to enable him to convey the part share which is vested in him in said mortgaged premises, an order of the Lord High Chancellor dated 23 March last was obtained on the petition of i).

 

One of the Master's of the said Court certified that iii) was trustee of said premises jointly with Mary Ann Baringer and that he was such infant's trustee for i)

 

Leah Firth died on 6 August 1828

 

John Cooper died on 21 August 1820 and Mary Ann his wife on 10 July 1829. They did not exercise the joint power of appointment reserved to them by the uses of the equity of redemption.

 

Mary Cooper died intestate leaving John Firth Cooper, her eldest son, surviving her who therefore became seised of the right of redemption in the mortgaged premises i) has agreed with iv) for the sale of his moiety of the premises for £400

 

Now in consideration of £400 paid to i) as surviving executor of Robert Salmon in trust to be applied as part of personal property and effects of Robert Salmon, paid by iv) and 5s to each of ii) and iii) i) releases, and ii) and iii) confirm, to iv) (in her actual possession by virtue of a lease for a year)

--- messuage etc on N side of High Street of Leighton Buzzard formerly in occupation of John Owen Stubbe (part of which was made into a draper's shop) now in occupation of John Flint, stationer

 

Covenant to levy fine of one fourth part of the premises to v) to use of iv)
