To bro. Rev. John Wolley and nephew Philip Anthony Hurt (son of testator's late bro. Richard Hurt) to be equally divided : all plate and plated ware.

 

To bro. Rev. John Wolley : all barometers, thermometers, telescopes, opera glasses and watches ; also contents not before bequethed of table drawers in drawing room in Dorset Sq. and drawers in the "Davenport" in one of drawing rooms and dressing table drawers in dressing room.

 

To bro.-in-law John Howard Galton : portrait of testator's late wife by Phillips, portrait of test's. late father-in-law Joseph Strutt by Reinagle and portrait of test. by Jackson.

 

To sister Mary Ann Arkwright : framed print of "Bolton Abbey in the Olden Time".

 

To bro. as above : drawing of the portrait of test's. grandfather Sir Richard Arkwright by Richmond after Wright of Derby.

To Mary Anne Ryle and Emma Ryle, to be equally divided : new and unused sleeping and dressing room linen.

 

To bro. John Wolley as above and bro.-in-law John Ryle, to be equally divided : all test's. wines.

 

To bro. as above : residue of household goods.

 

To various legatees as before : assorted monetary bequests.

Residue of real and personal estate to be sold or called in and converted to money and held by executors in trust for children of late Richard Hurt, Rev. John Wolley and late Susan Ryle (except Lady Hatherton (who has already an ample provision)).

To neph. Philip Anthony Hurt : addition monetary bequest.

To neph. Charles Wolley : books and bookcases in study instead of previous disposition of books and bookcases.

 

To 4 neph's. Theodore, Douglas, Herman and Cameron Galton : books and bookcases in room over test's. dressing room and back room previously bequethed to Douglas Galton alone.

 

3rd codicil.

 

To servant Robert Potts (compelled to leave test's. service by bad health) : annuity of £30; legacy of £100 revoked.

 

To servant Susan Murfitt : £50.

 

4th codicil.

 

To Adele Galton wid. of late neph. Robert Cameron Galton : monetary bequest which had lapsed at death of R.C.G.; book cases left to be divided between 4 nephs. in 2nd codicil now to be divided between Theodore Douglas, Herman and Adele Galton.

 

5th codicil.

 

To sister Mary Anne Arkwright : £100; previous monetary legacy revoked.

 

To servant Susan Murfitt : £50 in addition to £50 given by 3rd codicil.
