Administrative / biographical background:

John Prince (1643-1723), vicar of Berry Pomeroy and author of 'Worthies of Devon', 1701, had at his death further biographical material for which he could find no publisher. In two manuscript volumes the unpublished work was acquired by Sir Thomas Phillips, and is now deposited at the Plymouth & West Devon Record Office. A list of names follows this catalogue.
