Catalogue description Letter from Robert [Horne], Bishop of Winchester, Winchester, to William More, Loseley. He asks that John Slyfield of Byfleet, licensed to keep an alehouse, should be punished: he was detected at Horne's visitation as allowing dancing on the Sabbath, at which Richard Snosemere was the minstrel. He also asks More to examine William Ellis, Robert Joiver, the wife of Mellish and Tristram Griffith, all of Witley, as to whether they heard Nicholas Woodyer assert 'that women had no souls'. The vicar should be present at the examinations.
