Administrative / biographical background:

From 1833 the Congregationalists in Fenstanton worshipped together with some Baptists, and a Union Meeting House was built not long before 1854. When this alliance broke up a separate Congregational Chapel was built, in 1874. In 1972 the Congregational Church merged with the Presbyterian Church of England to become the United Reform Church. In 1983 the Fenstanton church became aligned with the Free Church in St Ives.* Much of the information in this paragraph is taken from Beyond Yesterday: A history of Fenstanton, by Jack Dady
